Paramedical Pedicure

paramedical pedi Los Angeles

What is it?

A non-invasive, dry pedicure performed by a Certified Master Pedicurist (CMP) from the North American School of Podology and Medinail-Advanced Nail Technologist (M-ANT), who are trained and skilled to carry out clinical foot care techniques in a safe, aseptic environment using autoclaved sterilized implements.

It addresses severely damaged, thickened, discolored toenails and excessively dry heels, cracks, fissures, and corns. It is safe for diabetic or high-risk clients; using implements that have undergone autoclave sterilization prevents the spread of bacteria, fungus, viruses, and blood-borne pathogens.

Who is it for?

Anyone who suffers from foot pain caused by thick nails, corns, calluses, ingrown or involuted nails, diabetics, oncology or otherwise immunocompromised clients who may benefit from proper foot and nailcare. Main reasons for to book paramedical pedicure:

Thick Nails

Nails can become thick for a variety of reasons – poor/reduced circulation, injuries, diabetes, fungal infection, repetitive trauma, etc. When a nail thickens, it can become brittle, discolored, unsightly and cause pain or discomfort. The Paramedical Pedicure uses an e-file and an appropriate bit to safely reduce the thickness (over a series of pedicures). Not only does this result in a smoother, more natural nail appearance, it effects less pressure on the nail bed (which, in turn, reduces discomfort and pain).

Ingrown or Involuted Nail Mitigation

An ingrown nail occurs when the corner or side of a toenail grows towards the sidewall. An involuted nail occurs when a toenail grows and curls under itself. Both conditions, which usually occur in the big toe, can cause pain, inflammation, swelling and, sometimes, even an infection.

Fungal Toenails

A fungal nail infection (Onychomycosis) can affect any part of the nail. If left untreated and the infection worsens, the nail may become discoloured, change shape and the surrounding skin may thicken.
